Special Election for Ward 2 Council position

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The City of Eagle Grove, Iowa, is hereby serving as Public Notice that on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 7:30 a.m. the Affidavit for Candidacy and Nomination Petition for Non-Partisan Office for the Ward 2 Council position shall be available to the Public and the Special Election process for said position will officially begin. The Affidavit for Candidacy and Nomination Petition for Non-Partisan Office documents shall be available at City Hall, 121 North Commercial Avenue, Eagle Grove, Iowa 50533. Any resident wishing to be elected to the Ward 2 Council position shall be required to appear in person for attestation and affirmation of candidacy. The Public is further provided notice that said Affidavit for Candidacy and Nomination Petition shall be due no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 29, 2024 to the City Clerk’s Office located at 121 North Commercial Avenue, Eagle Grove, Iowa 50533. City Hall, 121 North Commercial Avenue, Eagle Grove, Iowa 50533 will be open until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 29, 2024 to comply with current law.

The Special Election for Ward 2 Council position shall be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. unless otherwise modified by the Commissioner of Elections. Voting for Ward 2 Council position shall take place at Memorial Hall, 200 South Park Ave, Eagle Grove, Iowa 50533.  These dates and times are subject to change. Further notice and information regarding the Special Election will be provided at a later date.
